This World Milk Day, Australian Dairy is proud to celebrate the ‘women behind your morning milk’ - recognising the vital role women farmers play in producing the fresh, nutritious milk enjoyed by Australians every day.
Aligned with the Global Dairy Platform’s 2026 theme Celebrating Women Farmers, this year’s campaign shines a light on the passion, skill and dedication women bring to dairy – on farm, in business and in their communities.
From early mornings in the milk shed to managing farm operations and supporting regional communities, women are an essential part of Australia’s dairy industry. Their work helps bring milk from farm to fridge – a simple, nutritious staple that plays a big role in everyday Aussie life.
Across Australia, women in dairy balance life on farm with family, careers and community leadership, helping shape the future of the industry. World Milk Day is an opportunity to recognise these contributions, share their stories and celebrate the women behind every glass of milk.
How to get involved
There are many ways to get involved in promoting World Milk Day.
Host a morning tea on 1 June
Bring your team together to celebrate with a morning tea. Highlighting milk and dairy with:
• Coffee, smoothies or milk-based drinks
• A team bake-off (think milk-based recipes)
• A shared meal or sweet treat.
Share on social media

Share your ‘milk moment’
