These butters are the perfect accompaniment for warm hot cross buns!
Ingredients
Base
125g softened butterMaple Pecan Butter
1 tablespoon maple syrup2 tablespoons finely chopped toasted pecan nuts
Orange, Lemon and Lime Butter
1 tablespoon icing sugar1/2 teaspoon of finely grated zest of an orange, lemon and lime
1 teaspoon lime juice
Rum and Raisin Butter
Soak 2 tablespoons chopped raisins in 1 tablespoon of rum until plump, drain and combine with butter and 2 teaspoons icing sugar.Honey Ginger Butter
2 teaspoons honey1 tablespoon finely chopped glace ginger
Handy Tips
All butters will keep for 1 week covered in the refrigerator, or up to 3 months frozen.
Roll the butter into a log between sheets of baking paper and chill until firm. Cut into slices and serve on hot cross muffins.
