The Australian Grand Dairy Awards began in 1999 to recognise and reward excellence and innovation in Australian dairy produce and to acknowledge the achievements of the highly skilled, pioneering people who produce those products.

Only manufacturers of gold medal-winning products that are made from Australian milk and have already been through a rigorous judging process at Australian qualifying competitions are invited to enter the prestigious awards.  

The awards acknowledge excellence in Australian products and celebrate the craft of local producers in both domestic and international markets, while providing a platform to promote high quality Australian dairy.  

From 2023, the Australian Grand Dairy Awards will be delivered in partnership with the Royal Agricultural Societies. Specifically, the Royal Agricultural Societies will deliver the annual judging of the awards, while Dairy Australia will hold an annual event to announce the winners and manage promotional activity. This partnership will further strengthen the awards by leveraging the skills and expertise of both parties.
