Check out this video, where dairy farmer Ben Geard shares a standard day working on his farm in Tasmania.

Morning milking means an early 4am start. Once that’s completed and the cows are back in the paddock, it’s time for a spot of breakfast – for Ben and the calves! Before the afternoon milking shift, there’s plenty of maintenance to do around the farm, including setting up temporary fencing and feeding.

Dairy farmers choose to work in the industry for a range of reasons, from lifestyle flexibility to making a positive contribution to local communities and businesses.
