Can cream be frozen then thawed?

While cream can be frozen, it should be thawed slowly to reduce the risk of separation of fat and water.

Cream is a rich, versatile dairy product that is categorised according to its milk fat content and is a handy addition to a range of dishes.

Cream can be frozen for up to three months. When frozen, it expands in volume. As a result, if you are thinking of freezing a full retain bottle, it would be best to first decant it into a new container to allow for some expansion. The new container should be completely airtight to avoid the cream absorbing any odours from other foods that may be in the freezer.
