What is Dairy Australia doing for dairy farmers that are affected by the bush fires?

Dairy Australia supports bushfire-affected farmers by working with local authorities to manage animal welfare, providing recovery resources, and offering guidance on fire preparedness. Their regional teams offer on-the-ground assistance and some staff even volunteer in firefighting efforts.

Dairy Australia is actively supporting dairy farmers affected by bushfires by collaborating with local authorities and processors to address the immediate impacts on herds and minimise animal welfare concerns. They play a key role in recovery efforts, offering information, resources, and support to help farmers rebuild their businesses after the fires.

Additionally, Dairy Australia provides guidance and services to assist farmers in preparing for and managing fire risks on their properties.

Our regional teams work closely with relevant authorities to support dairy farmers with the services they need. In times like this we work to bolster the efforts of the delegated emergency response authorities to fill any gaps where possible. Our on the ground teams are well linked with farmers and live in these communities to provide a quick and local response. Whilst it is not a formal part of their Dairy Australia role, some of our regional team members volunteer in local fire fighting brigades and local service groups.
