Does lactose-free milk help digestion and reflux?

There may be a link between dietary choices and reflux. Currently evidence is limited around whether lactose-free milk directly helps improve reflux.

Lactose-free milk may be suitable for those who have trouble digesting lactose, the natural sugar found in milk.

Those with lactose intolerance may experience a wide range of symptoms, including digestive discomfort. Symptom relief may be achieved by choosing lactose-free milk, low lactose dairy foods (such as hard cheese) or consuming smaller amounts of dairy foods at a time.

Individuals may vary in their response to lactose and other dairy products. It’s best to speak with your health professional about dietary changes and seeking a diagnosis.
