Are there hormones in milk?

YAWA-01

Milk contains small amounts of naturally-occurring hormones, but they are broken down during digestion and are not absorbed in their active form.

Milk naturally contains small amounts of hormones, which are broken down by enzymes in the gut when consumed. This means they aren’t absorbed in their active form.

In some countries, farmers may use Recombinant bovine somatotropin (rBST), a synthetic hormone to increase milk production. However, in Australia, the use of rBST is strictly banned. This ensures that milk produced here is free from artificial growth hormones, providing peace of mind for our Australian dairy lovers.
