Traditional Golden Buttercake

A golden buttercake is a must-have in your recipe repertoire. It can be served simply for afternoon tea or filled with cream and berries, stacked and iced with buttercream to make a birthday cake, or made into vanilla cupcakes.
Ingredients
125g butter
1 cup caster sugar
3 eggs
1 cup self-raising flour, sifted
1/3 cup milk
cinnamon, for sprinkling

Method
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in eggs. Fold in flour alternately with milk.
- Spoon batter into a buttered and lined 23cm cake tin. Bake at 18°0C for 45-50 minutes.
- Serve sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.
