Discover Dairy for Healthy Kids
Primary school teachers can now pack their curriculum full of dairy goodness with the launch of a free nutrition education website.
Discover Dairy is an interactive website to help students discover dairy for a healthy life. It is designed to both engage and educate students about the benefits of having ‘three serves of dairy every day’, as part of a balanced diet, both now and into adulthood.
Teachers can access activity sheets that cater for a wide range of ages and learning abilities as well as lesson ideas to use as part of their curriculum.
The website also features resources aimed at canteen staff and parents. Canteen staff can access information to encourage students to make healthy lunch and snack choices, and parents can also use the site to reinforce positive eating habits at home.
The first Discover Dairy module, Unbeatable Bones, covers the importance of building and maintaining healthy bones with further modules planned for release in the coming months.
