PROFILE OF A BRAND MANAGER
Dairy Farmers' Donna Mulholland is responsible for one of the industry's most valuable
brands - Ski Yogurt.
She completed a four-year double degree at the University of Western Sydney (Hawkesbury)
- a Bachelor of Applied Science (Food and Nutrition) and a Bachelor of Business
Marketing.
Donna joined the company in 1998 working firstly in Corporate Development where she got
an overall feel for the industry. Her first marketing job was as an assistant brand
manager in ice-cream working on Oak and Dairy Farmers brands.
She then became a Brand Manager before being apppointed Product Manager within the Dairy
Foods Division with responsibility for Ski Yogurt in August 2000.
"We have a very Australian view of yogurt," she says; "Whereas in Europe
yogurt is seen as part of the meal, here we still view it as a snack item. My plan
is not only to get the other 50% of the market interested in yogurt, but also to look
at the way we eat it."
