PROFILE OF A TECHNICAL FIELD OFFICER

After leaving school early to help his mother run the farm while his father was ill, Trevor widened his experience to include computer studies, dairy farm related courses, artificial inseminator courses and milking machine maintenance.

Trevor takes pride in the achievement of converting a run down sheep property into a successful dairy farm and building a high performing herd of cows.

Trevor has had the opportunity to travel overseas professionally and for pleasure. He has visited farms and companies looking at quality assurance programs in the United Kingdom.

Trevor works with Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Company as a field officer helping dairy farmers improve their farm productivity and financial performance. His specialist skills in commercial farming, milking machine maintenance and computers help him greatly in providing the important link between the company and the farmer suppliers.

Trevor believes the Australian dairy industry has a big future provided it focuses on maintaining the clean green image.
