ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Electrical Engineers design, develop and supervise the manufacture, installation,
operation and maintenance of equipment, machines and systems for the generation,
supply and use of electricity for business, industrial and domestic purposes.
Electrical Engineers may be asked to perform some of the following tasks:
- Supervise construction plans and specifications and draw up contract documents
- Use Computer Assisted Design (CAD) to assist in the design and drawing of
complicated electrical systems
- Plan and design telecommunications equipment and networks
SCOPE:
Electrical Engineers work for consulting engineers and for firms in the manufacturing,
service and agriculture industries.
COURSES AND TRAINING:
To become an Electrical Engineer you need to complete a Bachelor of Engineering
specialising in Electrical Engineering. Entry usually requires the completion of
Year 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths or equivalent.
