ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Administration Assistants may perform the following tasks:
- Screen telephone and personal calls
- Operate office equipment such as photocopiers, facsimile machines, switchboards, computers
- Organise business itineraries, travel arrangements, conferences, meetings and social functions
- Maintain budgets and account records
SCOPE:
Administration Assistants work in all sectors of the dairy industry. These could be
for small or large scale manufacturing companies, service sectors, regional development
boards, tertiary institutions and support organizations. The extent of work duties
depends on the structure of the work area, the individual's knowledge of what is
required, and the willingness to accept responsibility.
COURSES AND TRAINING:
To enter this field it is usually necessary to complete an office or secretarial
course which includes typing, word processing, computer and shorthand skills. Courses
are available through registered training organisations which include TAFE. Costs,
duration, entry requirements and accreditation details vary.
