ACCOUNTANT
An Accountant is involved in the financial affairs of a business. Involvement in the dairy industry would see an Accountant do the following:
- Prepare financial plans for farms
- Advise manufacturing plants on their operational costs
- Prepare financial statements which meet legal requirements eg taxation returns, annual reports
SCOPE:
Accountants can be found in these areas:
- Private practice
- Rural finance
- Dairy processing plants
- Regional development programs
COURSES AND TRAINING:
Good results in Year 12 or equivalent with sound results in Maths will assist with
entry into degree courses. Diploma and Certificate courses are also available. Entry
into these courses can vary so it is best to check with each institution.
