SHELLY Shelly grew up on a sheep and beef farm. She wanted to work with animals, so applied for a job on a dairy farm. Her then employer encouraged her to commence a traineeship with Goulburn Ovens TAFE. She says this training gave her new skills and experiences that have provided the foundation for her career in the industry.

Shelly was awarded the Trainee of the Year for the Northern Region. This resulted in her spending several weeks in New Zealand studying their dairy industry.
